Akbayan solon opposes Yap return to DA
October 19, 2006

Akbayan Representative Etta Rosales today joined the chorus of voices opposing the re-appointment of Presidential Management Staff Chief Arthur Yap back to the Department of Agriculture, raising questions over unresolved cases that hounded Yap out of the office a year ago.

What’s New with Rep. Etta?

Rep. Etta Rosales has just concluded work on the bicameral conference committee working on the Marcos Human Rights Violations Victims Compensation Bill. The bill has now been approved by the bicam committee and is now subject for plenary approval in both the House of Representatives and the Senate for ratification before being sent to the President for signing. Rep. Etta successfully hosted and steered the recently finished Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA) Conference last August 15-16 at the Senate and the House of Representatives. The consultation aimed to craft strategies among Asian parliamentarians for the continuing campaign for universal ratification of the Rome Statute Establishing the International Criminal Court.
